Slate Roofing Contractor Members

This membership level is open to: An individual or company that (i) contracts to install, restore, or repair roofs, that has at least five years’ experience installing or restoring slate roofs, and whose income from installing, restoring, and repairing slate roofs over the preceding five-year period either (a) is not less than 75% its total income from installing, restoring, or repairing roofs of any type over such five-year period, or (b) averages not less than $500,000 per year. (ii) is unanimously recommended by the membership committee, and approved by unanimous vote of the directors present and voting at a duly convened meeting of the board, as having, in the judgment of the committee and such directors, (a) an exemplary record of skill and experience in the installation, repair, or restoration of natural quarried slate roofing, or (b) a bona fide intention to specialize in the installation, repair, or restoration of natural quarried slate roofing. (iii) abides by current published SRCA Slate Roof Installation Guidelines and current published SRCA Slate Roof Repair Guidelines when conducting slate roofing contractual obligations. (iv) does its own slate roofing work, as opposed to sub-contracting its slate roofing work to other contractors, unless the other contractors are (a) also in the SRCA Slate Roofing Contractor membership category, or (b) are not SRCA Slate Roofing Contractor members, but who are working under on-site supervision of a SRCA Slate Roofing Contractor member.
